On a typical voice-typing workflow, you press one hotkey to start, speak, and release. For a 200-word email that's 1-3 keystrokes vs about 1,200 if you typed it. Across a day with mostly long-form writing, 60-80% reduction is realistic.
Can I use it with one hand if my other hand is in a brace?+
Yes. Push-to-talk lives on Option/Alt+Space and is one-key reachable. Hold-mode default is two keys, also one-handed if you can reach the modifier with the same hand.
Does it work with vertical mice / split keyboards / accessibility hardware?+
Yes. VoiceTypr only needs a microphone and a hotkey it can listen for. It doesn't care what your input hardware looks like. Custom hotkeys are supported if the defaults conflict.
What about taking a break — can I disable it temporarily?+
Yes — there's a global pause from the menu bar / tray, and you can quit the app entirely without losing settings.
Will it work with my voice if I'm tired and not enunciating clearly?+
The medium Whisper model handles tired-voice speech better than people expect. If clarity drops noticeably, the large model is more accurate at the cost of speed; you can switch per-session.
