# Install Voicetypr on Windows 11

Windows 11-specific install steps for Voicetypr, including SmartScreen and microphone settings.

Use this guide if you are on **Windows 11**.

## 1) Download and Run Installer

- Open [voicetypr.com/download](https://voicetypr.com/download)

- Click Download for Windows

- Run the downloaded .exe

- If UAC appears, click Yes

## 2) Handle SmartScreen Warning

If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen appears:

- Click More info

- Click Run anyway

## 3) Enable Microphone Permissions (Windows 11)

Go to **Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone** and enable:

- Microphone access

- Let apps access your microphone

- Let desktop apps access your microphone

Restart Voicetypr after changing permissions.

## 4) First Dictation Check

- Open any text field (Notepad, browser, editor)

- Trigger Voicetypr hotkey

- Speak a short sentence

- Confirm text appears where your cursor is
